Spicy Jalapeno Sliders

I’m sorry, I do not have a picture of the finished product for this one.  They went on the grill LATE last night as the perfect midnight, party food.  It just did not occur to me to pull out the camera and the burgers that were still sitting around this morning, no longer looked appetizing.  I’m going to post the recipe though because they were AWESOME and a hit.

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, finely chopped jalapenos, finely chopped shallots, panko bread crumbs, heavy cream, grated cheese, and garlic powder.

Mix together well and form into small patties.  You can usually find slider buns at the grocery store and I find it’s useful to use this as a guide for how big you should make the patties, taking into account that they will also cook down a little.

Throw them on the grill and enjoy!  These would be perfect for fall tailgate @ a Michigan game as well 🙂


  • 3 pounds of ground beef
  • 6 jalapenos, seeded and diced fine, plus whole or sliced, for serving
  • 6 shallots, chopped fine
  • 1 1/2 cups panko bread crumbs
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Monterey Jack cheese
  • Pinch garlic powder
In a large bowl, add ground beef, jalapenos, shallots, panko heavy cream, cheese, garlic powder, 1 tablespoon salt, and black pepper. Mix together well.
Makes about 3 dozen sliders

      To make them even spicier, leave in some of the jalapeno seeds!

    Want. I’m actually growing jalepenos in my back yard, so I make sliders very similar to this, only without the cheese already in the patties.

    FYI, frugalfeeding, you can get a little handy slider press just about anywhere. Four of the patties will fit into your standard Ziploc sandwich bag. And not only are there slider buns now, there are also slider pretzel-roll buns. Find them.

    Here’s my contribution Erin 🙂

    Fruit Salsa & Cinnamon Chips:

    2 kiwis, peeled and diced
    2 golden delicious apples, peeled, cored and diced
    8 ounces raspberries
    1 pound strawberries
    3 tablespoons fruit preserves, any flavor (I used raspberry)
    10 – 10 inch flour tortillas
    Butter-flavored cooking spray
    2 cups cinnamon sugar

    In a large bowl, thoroughly mix kiwis, apples, raspberries, and strawberries. Then mix in the fruit preserves. Cover and chill in the refrigerator at least 15 minutes. Preheat oven to 350*. Coat one side of each flour tortilla with butter flavored cooking spray. Cut into wedges and arrange in a single layer on a large baking sheet. Sprinkle wedges with desired amount of cinnamon sugar. Spray again with cooking spray. Bake in the preheated oven 8-10 minutes. Repeat with any remaining tortilla wedges. Allow to cool approximately 15 minutes. Serve with chilled salsa.

    Servings: 10
